Mitchell Goes to the Food Pantry

Ms. Szums' second graders support the Needham Food Pantry!  They started their day collecting food items in the entire Mitchell School Community. After bagging the donations, each child carried a bag to Mrs. Murroff's car. Next students boarded a bus to the food pantry where they sorted and helped organize food items. In addition, they toured the Needham Community Council building where they visited the Thrift Shop and Conference Room. They also learned about other services the NCC offers residents such as medical equipment loans, the CAP program, and lessons people learning English. Ms. Szumís students learned a lot while helping others in their community. Oct 2015
